How to choose
Match runtime and coverage to your pool
Start with the pool size each cleaner covers, then check the runtime for one charge. The Aiper is rated for up to 860 sq ft by the maker with 90 minutes, the poolease is rated for up to 850 sq ft by the maker with 95 minutes, the GAMPLAE and Baopilong are rated for up to 1,000 sq ft by the maker with 120 minutes, and the AQUVII is rated for up to 1,140 sq ft by the maker for pools up to 33 ft. A longer runtime matters less on a small pool, so match the coverage figure to your pool before comparing runtimes.
Check self-parking and filter cleaning
Every pick here parks itself at the pool edge when the battery runs low or the cleaning cycle ends, so you can lift it out without entering the water. Filter cleaning differs: the AQUVII snap-on housing opens for rinsing the dual-layer filter in under 30 seconds, while the GAMPLAE and Baopilong covers come off for rinsing the filter with a hose. Pick the cleaning routine you will actually repeat, since a filter that is simple to rinse stays in use.
Cordless cleaning and flat pool floors
All five picks run cordless with one-click or one-button start, so no hose or cord limits where the cleaner travels. All five are built for flat-bottomed pools: the Aiper suits above-ground and flat-floored inground pools, the AQUVII suits flat pools up to 33 ft, and the Baopilong is crafted for flat above-ground pools and may not work properly on a large slope. Check that your pool floor is flat before buying.
