How to choose
Match flow rate to pool size
Flow rate states how much water a pump moves in a set time. The AQUASTRONG moves 4,945 GPH and the LINGXIAO moves 6,340 GPH, so compare those two figures directly. The Flynsu states its rate as 60 GPM, a different unit, so read it on its own terms. A larger flow rate moves water through the filter faster, but your plumbing and filter must accept that rate.
Timers and single-speed operation
A programmable timer switches the pump on and off on a schedule. Only the AQUASTRONG here has a built-in 24-hour programmable timer, with nine operating hours from 2 to 24 hours. The LINGXIAO, Hayward and Flynsu are single-speed pumps, which run at one speed when switched on. Choose a timer model if you want set daily run times without an external timer.
Baskets, lids and upkeep
Debris baskets catch leaves and grit before they reach the pump. The AQUASTRONG, LINGXIAO and Hayward all have large or extra-large baskets, and the Flynsu has an oversized basket. Transparent or clear lids let you check the basket without opening it: the AQUASTRONG has a transparent lid and the LINGXIAO has a clear lid.
