How to choose
Match flow to pool size
Flow in gallons per hour tells how much water the pump moves each hour. The Aquastrong moves 4975 GPH at high speed and 2400 GPH at low speed, the Moiseth moves 6500 GPH and the Hitgrand moves 6800 GPH, so compare those figures against your pool size and plumbing. The Aquastrong is the only pick with dual speeds and a timer, so it suits pools where run times change through the day.
Check fittings before buying
Fittings decide how the pump joins your plumbing. The Aquastrong comes with 1.5-inch and 2-inch adapters and a 6-foot power cord. The Moiseth includes connectors in three sizes with tool-free union fittings. Match the adapter sizes to the plumbing you already have, and check the strainer basket size for the debris your pool collects.
Plan upkeep around the basket
A strainer basket catches leaves and debris before they reach the impeller. The Moiseth has an oversized transparent strainer basket, and the Hitgrand has an extra-large detachable filter basket. Check the basket during heavy use, and fill the pump with water before first use.
